The French fashion designer Louis Féraud was one of the pioneers of modern French fashion and someone who constantly challenged established norms with his original style.
He created his first couture house in Cannes in 1950 and set up premises in Paris five years later. By the middle of the decade, he was dressing the Parisian elite and received special acclaim for designing the wardrobe of Brigitte Bardot for many of her movies.
A talented painter, Féraud created his own original prints full of details and hand-crafted additions which set his designs of swimwear and beach dresses apart from competitors.
His contribution to the development of modern French fashion over the decades was recognized by a series of awards and in 1995 he was awarded the Légion d'honneur, France’s highest order of merit.
The combination of originality and quality embodied by Louis Féraud throughout his distinguished career remain central to Féraud’s beachwear and nightwear collections to the present day.Show less
