One sunny day at the beach in Cannes in 1965, Nicole Leveque and her husband Jean-Pierre, decided to embark on an adventure. Their son, Olivier, has just been born. Jean-Pierre, not long back from the Algerian War, had a diploma in textile engineering in his pocket and Nicole had qualified as a pharmaceutical assistant.
It was the start of the story that was to become Nicole Olivier, the luxury French swimwear brand.
Inspired by beaches around the world, they started off working for leading brands such as Nina Ricci, Pierre Cardin, Pierre Balmain and Daniel Hechter among many others. After Jean-Pierre’s death in 1993, Olivier returned from Japan to take charge of operations and preside over the growth and internationalization of the Nicole Olivier brand.
Half a century on, Nicole is still the creative inspiration behind the brand which is known for its elegant designs and decorative macramé inserts. Made of very light, delicate polyamide lycra which is exceptionally soft and comfortable to wear, Nicole Olivier swimwear also dries much faster than traditional swimwear.
