A family business, La Maison Marjolaine was founded by Roger Millet Desdoitils in Villeurbanne near Lyon more than 70 years ago and has stayed in the same family ever. It is now run by Desdoitil’s descendants, first his daughter Nicole and now his grand-daughter Carole Guerin.
Family ownership has ensured a rigorous focus on the quality of materials, with lingerie products made from the best silk and lace. The company uses the same supplier of lace that was used for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011.
The company also employs sophisticated, modern manufacturing methods alongside traditional craftsmanship which involves cutting and laying lace and finishing garments by hand.
